Battery life is approximately 2 years, and the batteries can easily be replaced by buying locally supplied batteries in the Philippines of the AAA type.
To access the battery holder, simply get a screwdriver and open up the top part of the flow meter. There are no wires connected to the flow meter body section since a magnetic sensor is used as a pick-up to sense the turbine rotations.
Flow straighteners are also built into the internal body of the flow meter to protect the turbine blades.
